I've been an educator in Batavia Schools for 23 years. Teaching 15 years of kindergarten, 5 years of first grade, and 3 years in fourth grade have been a blessing. I'm ready to try second grade! My education includes graduating from Kaneland High School, Loras College (BA in Elementary Education), and Aurora University (MA in Educational Technology).

My very best support system includes all of my girls: Olivia (19), Anna (17), and Isabella (14), as well as my lovely wife, Heidi. We have a sweet little dog named Shea.

When I'm not teaching at McWayne, or home with my girls, then I am spending time running with my boys at Kaneland High School. I've been the head cross country coach there for 21 seasons, and I volunteer as a part time assistant coach for track at the school.

I love teaching my students how to: write with juicy words, solve tough math problems of all types, read with expression, accuracy, and understanding, and to be children with incredible character. There is no other job I would want to have, because being a teacher is the ultimate job in shaping the future of our world. Every other career is born from an excellent education as a child. This is a huge responsibility; and I love it.
Things I love:
Bowling, skiing, reading about new ways to teach with technology, playing card games with my family, bike dates with Mrs. Clarey, frisbee golf with my girls, golfing with my parents, boogie boarding while at the beach, running with my boys, Sundays on the couch doing lesson plans and watching the Bears, and cheering on my beloved White Sox.
